Combining an innovative
software-defined radio front end
with a high-performance
digitizer/analyzer provides a
solution that has the performance of
high-end lab spectrum analyzers yet
designed for distributed
deployments.
Integrated High-Performance
Digitizer and Analyzer
The
ThinkRF WSA4000 is designed for
high-performance distributed
wireless signals intelligence and is
designed to integrate with your
applications.
The WSA4000 provides sophisticated
triggering such that you can
identify signals of interest in
real-time. Those signals of interest
can then be stored without loss for
the purpose of post analysis either
locally within the unit or at a
central location.
The
WSA4000 has standard APIs for
connecting to your applications.
Interfaces include VITA VRT and
SCPI. The device supports both
gigabit ethernet and USB
connectivity. Combined with the
sophisticated triggering and signal
processing, the WSA4000 will only
transfer information that is of
interest and is therefore network
efficient.
Fast and Flexible Scanning
The
WSA4000 has an industry leading 100
MHz wide instantaneous bandwidth and
can scan the spectrum at a rate of
more than 200 GHz per second to
enable reliable monitoring of entire
bands of communications.
Sophisticated user-definable scan
lists and triggers enable spectrum
analysis of wide frequency ranges
and/or specific frequencies.
Real-Time Signal Search and
Loss-less Capture
The
WSA4000 has a patent-pending
real-time hardware signal search
engine that enables the
identification and capture of
signals of interest (SOIs). Signals
are identified by means of a
sophisticated and powerful mechanism
of mask and signal triggers.
Pertinent signal features may then
be stored or the signals may be
saved in their entirety for
subsequent geo-location and/or
digital signal processing.
Geo-Location and Direction Finding
Support
The
WSA4000 supports both
direction-finding and
trilateration-based transmitter
geo-location. It provides clock
synchronization for AOA direction
finding. It provides time
synchronization of networked
WSA4000s, accurate time-stamping and
accurate signal RSSI for power-based
trilateration. It also has an
integrated GPS with 1PPS.
Digital Signal Processing and
Demodulation
The
WSA4000 supports an optional OMAP
(Open Multimedia Application
Platform) system on a chip (SoC)
with embedded ARM DSP. The OMAP is
available for user applications. DSP
applications such as demodulation
are further support by integration
with MATLAB, GNU Radio and other
third-party applications.
High-Speed Connectivity and Standard
Network Interface Protocols
The
WSA4000 provides both USB
connectivity for stand-alone
applications and Gigabit Ethernet
for remote and distributed
applications. Standard network
interface protocols include VITA 49
Radio Transport (VRT) and Standard
Commands for Programmable
Instruments (SCPI) standard
protocols. Effective signal search
and user-defined triggers combined
with high speed connectivity ensures
that the WSA4000 is network
efficient.
