The WSA4000 Wireless Signal Analyzer supports standard APIs and is designed for easy integration with third-party applications. The following are examples of the different applications that the WSA4000 supports.

Data Acquisition and Spectral Analysis with MATLAB or Octave

The WSA4000 interfaces with the MATLAB and Octave to allow captured signal data to be passed directly to the MATLAB or Octave applications, or MATLAB signal processing or communications system toolboxes.

GNU Radio Application Development Platform

GNU Radio is a free signal processing development toolkit for rapid implementation of software-defined radio applications. ThinkRF provides both GNU Radio Universal Hardware Drivers and library extensions to take full advantage of the WSA4000's signal triggering and capture capability.

Ultra-Wideband Signal Capture

Multiple WSA4000s can be operated via a common clock reference (which may be provided by one of the WSA4000s) on multiple bands simultaneously to provide real-time capture of ultra-wideband signals or spectrum activity

Technical Security Counter Measures

The WSA4000's high-performance real-time signal capture capability combined with its small size, weight and power (SWaP) makes it ideal for seeking out difficult to find transmitters.

Wireless Intrusion Detection with Geo-location

The WSA4000 has the capability to support receive signal strength (RSSI) based geo-location and is ideal for the monitoring of in-building wireless communications, enforcement of wireless policy, and for wireless intrusion detection applications such as Airpatrol's Wireless Intelligence Solution

Spectrum Monitoring with Direction Finding

The WSA4000 has the capability to support time difference of arrival (TDOA) and angle of arrival (AOA) direction finding (DF). It is thus ideal for the monitoring, management and surveillance of transmitters across a geographic area whether for military applications or for government spectrum licensing monitoring and enforcement applications.
